Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 31, 2026. Last updated: August 31, 2026.
BrightDwell Inc., 300 Birchfield Dr, Mt Laurel Township, NJ 08054, runs an online referral platform that connects homeowners with independent cleaning professionals. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who receives it, and how you exercise your rights. It covers this website, our email and phone correspondence, and the referrals we make.
1. Information we collect
We collect only what a referral needs.
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Contact details | Name, email address, telephone number, town or township, and the street address of the property once a match is made. |
| Household details you give us | Property size, number of rooms, cleaning frequency wanted, access arrangements, pets, dates, and any preferences or instructions you choose to share. |
| Professional details | For cleaning professionals: name, contact details, service area, availability, experience, business registration, and insurance details if you carry insurance and choose to give them. |
| Correspondence | Messages you send through the contact form, by email or by phone, and our notes about the referral. |
| Billing records | Invoices for our referral fee and their payment status. |
| Technical data | Standard server log data such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, kept for security and to keep the site working. |
We do not collect payment card numbers or bank account credentials through this website, and we do not process payments between households and cleaning professionals. We do not ask for Social Security numbers, criminal history, health information or immigration documents, and we ask you not to send them.
2. How we use it
- To understand your request and identify cleaning professionals who fit it.
- To make the introduction, which means sharing your contact details with the professional and theirs with you.
- To invoice and collect our referral fee, and to keep accounting records.
- To answer questions, handle complaints and offer another referral if a match does not work.
- To keep the website secure and to prevent misuse of the service.
- To meet legal, tax and record-keeping obligations, and to establish or defend legal claims.
We send email about your own request without asking again. We send other marketing only if you ask for it, and every such message carries an unsubscribe link.
3. Who receives your information
- The matched cleaning professional, or the matched household. This is the point of the service. We tell you what will be shared before we share it. The professional then acts as an independent business and handles your information under their own responsibility.
- Service providers that operate our email, website hosting, invoicing and accounting, acting on our instructions and under confidentiality obligations.
- Professional advisers such as our accountant or attorney, where needed.
- Authorities or other parties where the law requires it, where we must protect the safety of a person, or in connection with a merger or sale of the business.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioural or targeted advertising, and we do not use it for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
4. Cookies and analytics
This website uses only the cookies and local storage needed to serve the pages and keep the site secure. We do not run third-party advertising trackers. If we add analytics later, we will name the provider in this policy before it goes live and honour browser opt-out signals, including Global Privacy Control.
5. How long we keep it
- Referral requests that do not result in a match: 12 months from your last contact with us.
- Matched referrals and related correspondence: 3 years from the match.
- Invoices and accounting records: 7 years, as our tax obligations require.
- Server logs: 90 days.
We delete or anonymise information at the end of those periods unless a legal claim or investigation requires us to keep it longer.
6. How we protect it
We limit access to the people who need it, use reputable providers with encryption in transit, keep our accounts protected by strong authentication, and store paper records at our office under lock. No service can promise perfect security. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as New Jersey law requires.
7. Your rights
Whoever you are and wherever you live, you may ask us to give you a copy of the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop sending you marketing. Write to info@btdwell.com. We answer within 45 days and may extend once by a further 45 days, telling you why.
If you are a New Jersey resident, the New Jersey Data Privacy Act gives you the right to confirm whether we process your personal data, to access it, to correct inaccuracies, to delete it, to obtain a portable copy, and to opt out of the sale of personal data, targeted advertising and certain profiling. We do not sell personal data, do not conduct targeted advertising, and do not carry out that kind of profiling, so those opt-outs have nothing to act on, and you may still exercise them.
We do not charge for a request and we do not treat you differently for making one. We may ask for enough information to confirm your identity. An authorised agent may act for you with your written permission.
Appeals. If we refuse a request, we will tell you why. You may appeal by replying to our decision with the word “Appeal” in the subject line within 60 days. We will respond in writing within 45 days. If we deny the appeal, you may submit a complaint to the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs, Office of the Attorney General.
8. Children
The service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If a child has sent us information, write to us and we will delete it.
9. Other websites
Links from this site to third-party pages are for convenience. Their privacy practices are their own, and we are not responsible for them.
10. Where your information is held
We and our providers store information in the United States. If you contact us from outside the United States, you accept that your information will be processed here.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The current version is always posted here with its effective date. If a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will tell you by email before it takes effect.
